You should have kept the snake for a pet

You should have kept the snake for a pet The snake was cool but I've got enough pets hehe, maybe if it would eat one of my dogs I'd let it stay... I found this little dude hiding in one of my tarps after I spread it out to dry

Those are really nice MIB. I didn't get to watch any this year because of work

I saved this beautiful black snake from my dogs today. It had crawled into their fence to get a mouse (I think, it could have been a frog) and they had it cornered. They killed one a couple weeks ago so I was glad I saved this one. I was able to get some good close ups because it was so sluggish from its meal - which you can see bulging in the last picture.

Wow. Great pictures. That snake looks like he could be pretty venomous!

Thanks...
They look sleek and dangerous, but they aren't venomous and are mostly harmless. It's called a [[black racer]] - considered one of the fastest snakes in the world. They take out mice, rats and even small poisonous snakes, so around here they are encouraged.
I've never been able to grab one before, but I got this one by the tail and took it out of my dog yard. It didn't even try to bite me.

That's good! I'll bet you felt like Steve Irwin for a minute, there.

I'm still quite a bit more cautious than Irwin... and that's an understatement. And I won't lie, I tested that snake's reaction time with a broom handle for about 20 minutes before I was satisfied that it had absolutely no chance to bite me. Poison or not I'm not looking to have fangs in me. ;D

Can't blame you. I'd probably do the same thing. I don't know why I haven't taken pictures, but I have some very priceless Broncos memorabilia that both my grandmothers made. My mom's mother had a special football made for me and my Dad's mother (one of the first ever season ticket holders for the Broncos when they first became a franchise in 1960) hand crafted a few Bronco horses. I need to put those up, soon!
