I'm amazed at how much we got, and it's still here. Our road is even still covered. I still can't get the car home. It's at a church a couple miles away. We are still having to get in and out with the Jeep... which if I didn't have to get Marii to work I would just be staying put anyway. Cool (literally) pics coming soon ;D

Awesome pics! I love the one of your son. Hopefully I'll be sharing a moment like that 10 or so years from now. The last shot of that picnic bench with 9 inches of snow reminded me of my picnic bench shot with the 20 inch snow monster. I'm still completely baffled that "The High Desert" got 20 inches of snow. The 20 inch snow monster!! (I give you my word, the snow formed this on it's own!!! Haha!!) Even behind the snow monster, you can see the picnic bench. Look at all that snow!!

I can think of at least 101 things that I shouldn't put into a reply here about that so I literally and figuratively won't touch it ;D
I'm sure you'll get plenty of great family moments in the coming years.
The last time we got 20 inches or more of snow was the 93' blizzard and we got a little over 2 feet. It seems like yesterday to me, but it was a long time ago.

Boy, the first snow is still on the ground and we are getting more right now. It's already covering the bare parts of the yard that had melted. Our road is going to be awful tomorrow.

We get a few dustings (less than an inch) every year lately. And maybe 2 or 3 doses of freezing rain crap - that mess doesn't even have to get on the ground to cause damage. A few years back we were out of power for a week and it just got on the trees causing them to fall everywhere.
Believe it or not the forcast is for 5-10 inches of snow and sleet here over the first of the weekend. The last snow just melted last week - it stayed over a month which has to be a record for here. It will have to get seriously colder though we are having 60's today.
I was thinking of you earlier this week, we had thunder and lightning. That's so rare in Jan that when I saw the first flash I thought a fuse had blown or something and then I heard the thunder. There was a bunch of flash flooding and several roads washed out in the county. I wanted to get out and get pictures but I've been feeling too sucky to move. You know it's been raining a lot if I'm tired of it... Even rain lovers like me need to dry out every now and then. ;D

Glad you got the rain out there, I know you enjoyed it. I can't get the links to open and I'm even more curious... what am I missing? Update for here... the weather dudes got it right again. Our whole area got blasted yesterday with snow and ice. We are standing at about 5-6 inches of snow right now but it's still pouring sleet and freezing rain (which I'm praying will stop before the power goes out). It's not as cold as the last system but it ain't warm. Radar from the local TV station from last night - we were at ground zero for this one. This little guy paid me no attention as he gathered up the bird feed when the storm first startedFreezing rain in the morning...

Jeez! That bottom picture looks like a screen shot right out of a movie! The two links I posted was a link to the story and a picture of 3rd Avenue. I live on 2nd Ave and Willow. So if I were to go up one block to third street and drive a few more blocks north, I would hit this... (I had to use my camera phone to take a picture of it since their image was copyrighted, but here it is!) Huge parts of the road literally broke apart and washed away in the rain...

Jeez! That bottom picture looks like a screen shot right out of a movie! Maybe we are in a movie here right now. About the North Pole ;D That picture is what happens when you zoom in on rain droplets and then use a flash. It came out stranger than when I did it with the snowflakes. That picture of the street is crazy - that looks like a picture out of a disaster movie. We have roads wash out sometimes like that here but it's usually on the side of a hill and the road just kind of leaves. I can't ever get a good picture when it happens because they block the roads off and won't let anyone near it. They can't keep people away like that out in populated areas I guess. I've never seen anything like that in town in my life. Believe it or not they are calling for more freezing rain this morning and another snowstorm for Saturday. I'm outta here tommorrow night though for warmer weather in the Sunshine State!

Lucky you. ;D
I need to get a good picture od the mountains, sometime. The mountains get snow every year and you can see them from my town. The way it glistens in the sun is gorgeous! It's been pretty foggy over there, so I can't get a decent picture.

I'll look forward to that picture.
We got 4 inches of snow again the day I got back from Florida. I have totally lost track now of how much we've got this season. It's kind of cool... but everyone else is tired of it.

I'm baffled at how much rain we got, this year. I can only imagine how much snow it would've been if it were cold enough. Skies have been pretty clear with temperatures in the mid-high 70s. Feels a bit hot today. Boooo!! I prefer the cold!
