You know, I can't believe I am finally getting around to doing this. Anyway most of you freaks here know me. ;D My real name is Melisa. I am going to be 35 this month and I am happy I am another year older but I am not happy about getting older. Anyway, I think I am the only person who understands what I am trying to say here. I do not have kids but I am working on that. In fact, I would say having a child to me would be like winning the lottery. I don't think I could get any happier if that happened. I like horror, crime shows, mysteries and paranormal. I am also into wine and will be going to Napa California September 19th. I can't wait!!!! So enough about me...

You cause me to admit something that I never thought would happen to me BC... I have a truly good friend I met online lol... needless to say I'm glad to have you here.
I hope that you are able to have a kid (then you will need to win the lottery), but in the meantime you can always have a darn fun time trying ;D

Thanks guys! That is a really nice thing to say MIB. You know I think the same about you pal!! ;D
If I ever make my way to NC, you and Marii and me and Bountyhunter will have to hang out.
Maybe I will have to plan a vacation to NC sometime. What is there to do in NC?

Hey! Don't forget me!!!! Lol... I'm only an hour and a half away! Though, I guess you and MIB are better friends, but still! hee hee...
And there's PLENTY to do in NC - MIB and the rest of our family always loved going up on the Blue Ridge Parkway, if you're into outdoorsy stuff. We have tons of beautiful things to see in the mountains. And of course, I love Charlotte, though MIB hates it. But we have some cool museums here, a really cool place called Discovery Place, and of course, the Panthers and the Bobcats (if you're into sports).

I love museums!!! Oh and I would love to meet you too Bella. It sounds like an awesome time. My husband would really like the sports stuff (Panthers and Bobcats) but me....not so much. I am willing to go along though and check it out. ;D Besides live sports are always better than watching it on TV. I will definitely have to plan something.

Well, don't get me excited about it unless you're serious lol. But, we have a roomy place with an extra bed room and bath that is yours as long as you want to stay on a vacation (we are very clean people btw - remember I was a chef). We live waay out in the woods on a dirt road but we are close to all sorts of mountain themed vacation stuff. We live right on top of Lake Lure and Chimney Rock, we are an hour from Asheville and the Biltmore House. There are hundreds of waterfalls, thousands of hilltop views and its only about 3 1/2 hours from the coast. So if you promise to allow me to be your guide (for whatever you want to do) you are welcome come on vacation here. I think I've told you before Cat, that we have family in Detroit.... Monroe to be exact. It's been a long time since we visited them but when I get my disability worked out we are planning to go see them. When that happens we will all have to get together for dinner and or a road trip or something. Marii and I both loved Mackinac Island (me the bridge especially) and Soo St. Marie. I know my son would love to see the ships go through the locks and my Mom has never been - She's a light house nut so I know she would love Point Iroquois and Whitefish Point. We are hoping to get back to see some of those places if we can afford it.

Dude, I am totally serious! NC sounds like a really nice place. I looked up The Discovery Place on the internet and it seems nice as well. I am really interested in the Pompei show they are having. I have always wanted to go there but it is very expensive and I just don't want to spend the money right now for the trip. I really appreciate you offering for us to stay at your house. That is super nice! Oh and I believe you guys are clean people LOL. I do not know if you will really want us to stay with you though because my husband snores like a bear! I am not joking at all when I say that either. I have gotten used to it but most people complain because it is so loud.
Do they have any nice clubs with live bands and stuff in Charlotte (not country music LOL)? I love that kind of stuff and we do that often here. Also all of the country scenery and mountains sounds good. Is there bears and stuff in the woods in NC? I am afraid of bears but I am willing to check it out LOL. Oh those scorpions that you posted on MMM creep me out too. I would probably not be able to come down there until next Fall because I have a trip this month to CA (yay I leave on the 19th) and in the spring I am going to Nashville.

Hee hee... this sounds like fun! And don't worry about the snoring - MIB's extra bedroom is at the other end of the house! Your hubby can snore his little heart out! LOL!
The Pompeii exhibit looks really cool. I really want to go if I can get some extra money going. I've actually been there (got to go to Europe as part of college) and I loved it! I was a history major, you know. Discovery Place has always been one of my favorite places. It's so neat! There are plenty of live music venues here - my fiance's dad even plays in a jazz session every Monday night. So we could definitely get some music in. And hopefully by next fall, we'll have our own place, so you could spend some time with us too - that way you could see some music at night and not worry about a drive back to MIB's (even though it's only an hour and a half). And the snoring wouldn't bother us either - my fiance might even put your hubby to shame!

Wow this does sound like fun! I am sure I will have a really good time since I will have such a good group of people to hang out with. Is it hot in September there? I hate it when it is really hot and do not want to travel south until it starts to cool off a little bit. It does not have to be cold or anything just not 90-100 degrees.
The jazz club sounds awesome! I go out usually about once a week to see local bands and I LOVE IT! There is nothing better than live music. Here are a few local bands we go and see. You guys can probably find them on the internet.
Fifty Amp Fuse - my favorite. I am even thinking of hiring these guys for a charity event I plan on hosting. They are expensive but SOoooo worth it.
Remedy
Blackberry Brandy
The Killer Flamingos
Three Whisker Betty - These guys suck a little but they play alot of good hard rock music so I deal with them.
When you guys come out here, we will have to go do some things like that. Also, we can go to Mackinac if you guys want. It is a long drive because we live almost to Ohio but I can take some days off and we can go check it out. I live in Huron Township which is not far from Monroe at all. I can drive to Monroe in about 20 minutes so hooking up should not be a big deal.
Anyway, first we need to plan my trip to NC.

Yes, we forgot... who are you... LOL
Don't come here in September if you don't like it hot. It will be anywhere from 85 to 100 for much of that month in the day time. June, July and August... don't bother. October is leaf season here - the end of the month towards Halloween. We usually always try to get all our friends together to do a cookout and bonfire with ghost stories on the last Sunday of October... so that would be a wonderful time to come. Octobers are usually cold at night and mild in the day here. The one draw back is that there are a lot of people in the area during that time but it's usually not overcrowded.
If you do decide to come in the winter it won't matter too much. It hardly ever snows here. We get one or two bad ice storms a year at the most. The rest of the time it is still pretty mild. 30s and 40s at night and 50 to 75 in the day time - with the occasional cold spell mixed in - nothing you Northerners can't handle. ;D

Well I will take your advice MIB. I don't care for the heat too much so I will probably have to come sometime in October or wait until next winter. Halloween will be a bit difficult because it is a big thing for my family and friends to hang out. The beginning of November is blackwidow's birthday so I have be around for that. After all she is my gram Anyway, I can do it either early October or I would have to wait until after the holidays. One thing is for sure that I will be making it that way sooner or later. ;D We can keep in touch on this subject as the time draws closer and make some plans. First things first, I leave for California Friday morning. I can't wait because I have been working I disagree off lately and I am ready for a break!
