How in the world do you enjoy your favorite flicks? Mostly at the theater or do you have a nice, cozy set up at home. Do you watch them with friends, family or in beautiful, solitary silence? I like to watch movies in a variety of ways. I only like to watch them with other people if they are going to pay attention - I take my movie watching seriously lol. I love to go to the theater, it's one of my favorite things to do, period. At home I have a the good cozy set up in my office room. There we have a hi-def wide screen with Directv and Blu-ray (PS3). It's a small room so I put in an economy sized RCA surround sound system (5.1). There is a super-comfortable sofa to crash on making it possible to withstand several films back to back. In our living room we have a digital projector. There we can watch movies projected onto the wall. Wide screen movies look great at about 6'x3'. I've got a Sony digital 5.1 surround system hooked up in there with a decent sub - It sounds better than most theaters (which is not really saying anything). It really is sort of like being at the theater... except with a couch, a pause button and a kitchen! And it's a great way to watch Star Wars at home. Attack of the Clones on my digital projector

These days we rent 'em and watch 'em at home. The last movie I saw in a theater was Superbad. That's just supersad.

^ that works for me after seeing a drama like Atonement... I had to watch a pretty stupid comic movie to wash away the tears lol

I'm pretty much the same way, MIB. I LOVE watching them in theaters, it's a shame you can't watch any classics like Psycho on the big screen anymore. I like watching them with other people, but only if they pay attention. Can't stand when nobody pays attention either.

Not to mention... I almost ALWAYS need snacks of some sort. A Coke is usually a must. Often candy and chips.

Oh man, I don't know what it is, but I love to eat and watch movies or big games. My favorite is when it's cold outside and we make a huge crock pot full of home made soup so you can eat on it slowly all day while watching movies.
I totally agree about the paying attention thing too. I have some friends who I'll invite over or go to the theater with, and they will be texting through half of the movie. Then there's one of them that always bashes nearly every film because he thinks it didn't make sense. I'm thinking maybe if you didn't miss most of the dialog scenes it would be more clear.... lol...
sorry for the rant.

Cold season is my happy season. I'm too much of a pessimist when it's hot outside. It's just miserable!! A lot of my friends really aren't into movies nearly as much as me. So I don't think I could ever invite them over and watch a movie without them drifting away somewhere.

Lol, that's why I think you and me would have a blast watching a movie together every once and a while. Most of the time I'd rather watch them by myself too.

Stacey is great with movies! She's the one I enjoy watching movies with the most! Always open minded to any movie we watch.

She's a keeper then!
Enjoy it until you get kids. Marii and I always loved the same movies, but now it's Fireman Sam and Bob the Builder until she falls asleep with David hehe...

Ya never know. The kids could get into Child's Play like I did. Then it shouldn't be so bad until they wake up alone at night.

If I let my 4yr old watch something like that my wife would turn into the bride of Chucky and you'd be hearing about my murder on the news hehehe...

I can see why. But.. looking back on it, I wish my parents would've shown me more horror movies as a kid. I experienced A Nightmare on Elm Street when I was about 15 and unfortunately, it never had an effect on me. The only movie that ever really terrified me was The Exorcist, when I was 13. Every noise made me think Regan was coming.
