The NFL has been doing a weekly countdown for months, now to determine the greatest NFL player of all time. Some spots I agree with, but for the most part, I'm in disagreement. They're going to countdown the final 10 next thursday niight. Here's the list. top100.nfl.com/I've got the ten players pretty much figured out, and here they are in random order. Joe Montana Jerry Rice Johnny Unitas Peyton Manning Dick Butkus Lawrence Taylor Don Hutson Jack Tatum Jim Brown Reggie White Here's how I believe they will be ranked according to The NFL Network... 10) Peyton Manning 9) Don Hutson 8) Jack Tatum 7) Reggie White 6) Johnny Unitas 5) Lawrence Taylor 4) Dick Butkus 3) Joe Montana 2) Jim Brown 1) Jerry Rice But here's how I feel they SHOULD be ranked (even though a few don't even belong). ;D 10) Joe Montana 9) Don Hutson 8) Johnny Unitas 7) Jack Tatum 6) Peyton Manning 5) Reggie White 4) Dick Butkus 3) Jim Brown 2) Jerry Rice 1) Lawrence Taylor I believe Lawrence Taylor is very deserving of that #1 spot.

Lol... I usually just ignore such lists because I never agree with them. To not include Barry Sanders, Marino, Elway, and Walter Payton in their top ten just makes me laugh... I know it's all opinion, but to not include those players just makes it lose all credibility to me.
As far as those that are there... Your call is as good as any... LT seems to be a total creep now days, but as a player there were few even in his league.
Walter Payton is my top choice of all time. Talent, leadership, awareness. sense of team and versatility are all covered with Sweetness... he could play any position and never complained about his role. As I've said about Barry Sanders... I would have loved to see what Walter could have done behind the line Emmitt Smith had.
OK that's the end of my rant lol...

OK that's the end of my rant lol I haven't looked too deeply into the LT issues, so I'm not going to judge his character, just yet. I mean, Michael Jackson was never proven to have done what he was accused. The only thing proven was that there were accusations made up to get money. Some role model for their children, huh? And, I'm pretty sure Walter Payton will be in the top 10. He wasn't in the top 100 that I could see, so he's got to be in the top ten. If he isn't, it will be an even bigger laugh than Brady and Favre over Marino and Elway.

LT is just a mess, not so much a criminal. He admitted to paying for sex with a prostitute... who has now turned out to be 16. The only thing he is denying, I think, is that he knew she was underage.
It's just kind of sad, to see such a talent, and somebody I enjoyed watching perform at a high level - fall so far. He kind of reminds me of Mike Tyson.

Oh, man. Mike Tyson. I just feel terrible for him. I honestly believe he would've been considered the greatest of all time. Side note. I predicted the #9, #7, and #6 spots correctly.
