Who is your favorite band? I love everything about classic rock. It's easy to get lost in just about any great rock song of the 60s and 70s. The following list is my personal top 3 favorite bands of all time. Hope you enjoy the list! (And especially the bands. )
3) Creedence Clearwater Revival
This band made some of the most enjoyable music in the history of music. How can you not tap your feet to 'Lookin' Out My Back Door', 'Bad Moon Rising', 'Up Around the Bend' or 'Who'll Stop the Rain'? I grew up with this band listening to their music as a kid with my Dad outside. He would blast all kinds of great rock music that would stay with me forever. When I reminisce of those days, Creedence Clearwater Revival is always the band I think of first.
2) Led Zeppelin
This band has an unbelievable string of talent. Jimmy Page, John Bonham and John Paul Jones are among the greatest of their respected instruments. And who can forget Robert Plant's vocals? This band knows what music is and they executed every song perfectly. It's a shame that John Bonham passed away at such a young age. The greatest rock drummer in history, in my opinion. We miss you, Bonzo!
1) The Doors
I could write a 2,000 page book about how much I love The Doors.
The poetic vocals and eerie psychedelic tune is always a force to be reckoned with. No other musicians or poets in the history of... music... or poetry... have even dwelled within the shadow of the mind of Jim Morrison, in my opinion. His poetic abilities are amazing and the music to go along with the words he speaks always puts me in a trance. The Doors have been credited with creating their own style of music called 'Dark Poetry'. The amazing, low tune voice of Jim Morrison and the eerie, psychedelic keyboarding of Ray Manzarek, in it's own way, formed a whole new type of music and sound. The guitaring of Robbie Krieger fits perfectly with the rendition of Morrison and Manzarek, same with the drumming of John Densmore. In my mind, I can't come up with a more perfectly pieced together rock group.
