I'm not going to go into great detail recalling where I was and what I thought when it happened like we've all done so many times (though that is important - oral history is highly underrated). This year I'd like to try to put a positive spin to our day of memorial. Through all the conspiracy theories and blaming, through all the political finger pointing, through the complete bashing of president Bush and now Obama... one little fact has slipped through the mainstream thought - It has not happened again on our soil! Even if something terrible were to happen soon, it would still have taken much longer than anyone expected, that's me included. I think most of us figured there would be many acts of terrorism following the first attacks as they were just the beginning. I don't have an opinion to state, I don't have anyone in mind to blame, and I don't have some underlying message - I'd simply like to thank every person at every position who has worked tirelessly, and at times through great adversity, to keep our country safe from any and every attack since September 11, 2001.
