[[Walter Cronkite]] - November 4, 1916 – July 17, 2009 When I was growing up... Walter Cronkite was the voice of the news, just that simple. The confounded voices of modern day Babel we hear today spew forth shaky editorials based entirely on agenda. In a day and age where entertainment has moved out truth a man like Cronkite will be missed sorely. I personally have never heard a bad word uttered about Walter Cronkite. And it had to have been more than coincidence that he looked more and more like Yoda every year... hehe. Rest in Peace Mr. Cronkite... you were our narrator of history and your impact will never be matched.

All due respect, MIB, I should have been the one to start this thread. I referred to Walter in my Milestone + 40 post and not just because he was there, but because he was as much a part of the space program to me as the Apollo astronauts were. That was the reason that I mentioned him in that post.
Walter Cronkite....geez....what can I possibly say about him that hasn't already been said? What can I possibly say that's worthy of mention in his passing? He was as much a part of Americana as the subjects that he reported on. He had integrity and he had honor. Those are values that are in serious need in today's world of instant gratification.
Walter Cronkite was just a part of daily life in those days. If he said it, he meant it and you could rest assured in his words. There'll never be another one like him and thank GOD for that! He deserves his own spot at the apex of journalism.
A tip of the Fish cap to Walter Cronkite.

I did notice that you mentioned him in your NASA post. That's just another instance of the man's reach. And I thought you might do this thread... then I thought you might think I was gonna do it, then I forgot about it... then I remembered it, and finally I just did it... But feel free to add any pictures or memories any time.
