I'm right in the middle of The Loch by Steve Alten. It's a great scifi/horror tale of a very un-nessie like beast in Loch Ness. Lots of Scottish history too.

This is what I am reading right now. Actually I am between two books (also reading twilight) but I am into this one a little more right now. This book is actually very interesting.

I've been reading several books lately, but most recently I've gotten into the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. So far I've read the first two books, and can't wait to get the third one!

Nothing. Sadly. I will be reading the next in the Twilight series when we get all moved and settled.

I just know I'd like that book! If your interested in reading it, I am done with it and I can mail it to you. It was a very interesting book. I got a few more from James Van Praagh that I haven't had the time yet to read but I plan to.

I was just thinking the other day that we should start a book/magazine exchange here - where we could list some items that we are done with that we think that others might like to check out. Then maybe work out a trade with each other... could be fun.

[[Old Man's War]] - [[John Scalzi]] I just picked up the first three books in this series (there is four right now). The first book is outstanding! It is like an [[Ender's Game]] about adults. The writing style is simple, clear, visceral, enlightening and hilarious all while finding much in common with the reader's own experiences in the journey through life. The first person story follows John Perry, a 75 year old man who decides to join humanity's interstellar military campaign against gobs of googly aliens bent on keeping us Earthlings from having the whole universe to ourselves. Perry and many other senior citizens begin this journey because of a vague promise of getting to be young again. What they don't realize is just how such youth is granted. Old Man's War will make you old then young again through Perry's eyes as he makes and loses friends, battles every sort of creature you can't imagine, and discovers more about being human than he ever wanted to. Side note...
The name of the main character from Old Man's War, John Perry, comes from the first name of the keyboardist of [[Journey]], and the last name of the vocalist. Similarly, the character Steve Cain has the first name of the vocalist and the last name of the keyboardist.

[[Bones of the Earth]] - [[Michael Swanwick]] I'm about half way through this one and I haven't decided if I like it yet... I don't know if that's a good sign. It's sort of a cross between Back to the Future, Jurassic Park, church and science class.

[[Battle Angel: Alita]] - Volume One - Rusty Angel Manga set in the future about a female cyborg found in a scrap heap by a scientist who moonlights as an assassin-bounty hunter. Alita begins her search to reassemble her past while she hones the deadly skills of her new battle ready body. This is a pretty good manga, the art is exciting and the story and plot are good. Sometimes the English translation seems to be off but it isn't too bad.
