Is anyone else as stoked as I am about the 2009 Season? I'll tell you what, by the time the draft rolled around, I was completely drained. It was such a tough time to be a Denver fan. The Mastermind Mike Shanahan was fired. Immediately after he's replaced, Jay Cutler, the franchise quarterback of the Denver Broncos, wants out of Denver. I was completely on Jay's side throughout the whole ordeal, but honestly, he completely let me down as a fan. I wish he would have kept quiet, went out and showed Josh McDaniels just how stupid it was to even CONSIDER trading Jay Cutler. I'm still really bummed about losing him.
I am extremely stoked with how the draft went down. We got quite a few key defensive players. Particularly, Alphonso Smith. This guy led all of college in interceptions last season, and with Champ Bailey taking him under his wing? I definitely see a mega-star being born very soon.
On the offensive side, the talk of the town is Knowshon Moreno. This guy is thought to be the next Terrell Davis. That would definitely be a great treat to go with Ryan Torrain and Peyton Hillis. I really hope Denver does extremely well this season.

I am always stoked for football season. I'm looking forward to going back down to Spartanburg to see the Panthers at training camp again.
I'm also seriously exited to see what Pat White will do for the Dolphins. He is the draft pick I wanted. I don't remember that ever happening before. I'm not going to get my hopes up too high for another trip to the playoffs because we have the toughest rated schedule in the league this year... but I glad we finally got back in the mix instead of the cellar.
The whole Denver thing has me baffled. I hope that for your sake they don't go into a tailspin like the Dolphins did when they forced Shula out. I feel for you for losing Cutler... like I said I always wanted the Fins to draft him and I enjoyed watching him play for Denver.
I'm wondering what will happen now with Marshall. I think he's one of the top 5 wrs in the league, but they maybe better off trading him now. There is so many teams in the wr market and he doesn't seem to want to be in Denver. He also has a nasty habit of (at least getting accused of) beating up his ladies. You never know about it happening once, but the dude was in trouble several times for it with his longtime girl, then immediately got into trouble with his new one. Whatever it is I hope he gets straight, he seems like he's probably a nice guy... may be with a bad temper sometimes.
I am really high on Moreno though. That was a great pick in my opinion. I'm not much of a Georgia fan, but enjoyed the heck out of watching that beast run in college. It seemed like he had top ten Sports center moments every game.
Alphonso Smith was a good pick too. I would not have minded the Panthers or Dolphins getting him hehe. But I'm happy with Vontae Davis, he's sort of like a CB Joey Porter.

You guys may have stolen the best quarterback in that draft. I don't see Matt Stafford being too big of a star. Mark Sanchez may just be the best out there, but we'll never know until he plays with the big boys. Look what happened to Leinart
As for Marshall, As much as I like a player, if he doesn't want to play for my team, part of me just wants to see him gone. No matter how good he is. The same thing happened with Cutler. That's why I was so let down as a fan, but I don't think I'd want him back in Denver with the way he handled the situation.

Can't say as I'll be pullling for Sanchez except when the Jets play the Pats ;D

Well... Denver didn't look so great. BUT it's only preseason.

I hope Moreno is alright. I'd love to see him do this to Merriman...

They're saying he should be ready for week 1. It's good to see Denver has an even more dominant running game. I'm still bummed that Jay Cutler did what he did. But if he feels that way about Denver, good riddance.
Our defense shouldn't be among the worst in the league this year. We've got a more well-rounded team instead of just a highly dominant offense.

Well, I'm starting to get excited now! When the preseason games start it makes me itch for the real deal. My Dolphins looked sharp against Jacksonville this Monday, especially the defense which just smothered. I can't tell you how glad I am to have Jason Taylor back. I tried not to complain too much about him and Zach Thomas leaving (my two favorite players for years) since the team was rebuilding. Now I can enjoy JT's final years as a Fin... alongside Joey Porter. There are so many other great stories to look out for this year with Matt Stafford looking really good already in Detroit, Brady back in for the Cheats and yeah... I'll say it... number 4 in Minnesota... not to mention a ton of other rookies and new faces in new places. I finally got to Spartanburg to catch a couple of Panthers practices. The first week was just too hot for me - 100 degrees with 95% humidity and arthritis don't mix well hehe. But it cooled down some this week and I got down there. They looked pretty good. (check out my seperate post for pics and stuff) Well, here's to hoping everyone enjoys this year!

I'm pretty nervous for Denver. I'd be so lost if I were to predict how they'd do this year. So many huge changes.

I'm pretty nervous for Denver. I'd be so lost if I were to predict how they'd do this year. So many huge changes. It'll get better. I feel for you, I'm finally feeling comfortable with my team's future for the first time since Shula left. Hopefully you won't have to wait that long for McDaniels to turn it around.

Who knows, he could turn around very quickly, but then again, he has a lot to change.
This is the biggest change the Denver Broncos have probably ever had to deal with during the offseason. Firing Mike Shanahan, the loss of their franchise quarterback and Brandon Marshall acting like a complete baby. A lot of their star players and coaches are gone. But hopefully it's for the better.

Marshall got reactivated today, I think... maybe he will calm down and just catch some balls.

I hope he turns his act around. He and Merriman are known as the wife beaters of the NFL
