We spent the last several days in Spartanburg, SC with my son David in the hospital. He had some horrible virus and was badly dehydrated and had dangerously low blood sugar. He is home with us now (thank God) and has been able to keep his food and liquids down for the first time in nearly a week. I don't wish this experience on anyone. There is no more helpless feeling than having to watch your child suffer like that. He was so dehydrated that they had to try over a dozen times to get an IV started. His veins kept collapsing. The lady doing the IV had tears in her eyes and was praying as she finally got it started. He has bruises all over both hands and arms from all the times they tried. I could only stand there wishing with all my heart that it was me instead of him. I have a whole new kind of respect for parents whose child has a long term illness. They are my new heroes. Please keep David in your prayers and thoughts This boy will never have a shortage of girlfriends ;D

I'm definitely glad to hear he got better, though I'm very sorry that you all had to go through that. You're all in my heart and prayers <3

I think he's almost back to normal now... no... he'd have to have been normal to begin with for that... ;D He was running back and forth through the house tonight and I just thought how wonderful that sounded. Thanks for the prayers Good to see you Val
